Al-Zalzalah (The Shaking)

Translation

Verses 1-8

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا (1)

When the earth is shaken with its earthquake.
[Al Quran ; 99:1]

وَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا (2)

And the earth brings out its weights.
[Al Quran ; 99:2]

وَقَالَ الْإِنْسَانُ مَا لَهَا (3)

And the human says: What is the matter with it?
[Al Quran ; 99:3]

يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا (4)

On that day, it will tell its news.
[Al Quran ; 99:4]

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا (5)

That your Lord has inspired it.
[Al Quran ; 99:5]

يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِيُرَوْا أَعْمَالَهُمْ (6)

On that day, the people will come out divided to be shown their deeds.
[Al Quran ; 99:6]

فَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ (7)

So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it.
[Al Quran ; 99:7]

وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ (8)

And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it.
[Al Quran ; 99:8]
