Al-Masad (The Palm Fibre)

Translation

Verses 1-5

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ (1)

Perished both hands of Abi Lahab, and perished is he.
[Al Quran ; 111:1]

مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ (2)

His wealth and what he earned will not avail him.
[Al Quran ; 111:2]

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ (3)

He will reach a fire of flame.
[Al Quran ; 111:3]

وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ (4)

And his wife will be the carrier of firewood.
[Al Quran ; 111:4]

فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِنْ مَسَدٍ (5)

Around her neck will be a rope of palm fibre.
[Al Quran ; 111:5]
