Al-Mulk (The Kingdom)
Translation
Verses 1-30
بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ (1)
Blessings from the One in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He is over everything Capable.
[Al Quran ; 67:1]
الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ (2)
Who created death and life to test you (as to) which one of you is best in deed; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving.
[Al Quran ; 67:2]
الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا ۖ مَا تَرَىٰ فِي خَلْقِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ مِنْ تَفَاوُتٍ ۖ فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَىٰ مِنْ فُطُورٍ (3)
Who created seven heavens in layers; you do not see in the creation of the Compassionate any flaws. So return the vision again, can you see any cracks?
[Al Quran ; 67:3]
ثُمَّ ارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ يَنْقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ الْبَصَرُ خَاسِئًا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٌ (4)
Then return the vision twice, the vision will return to you disappointed while it is fatigued.
[Al Quran ; 67:4]
وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا رُجُومًا لِلشَّيَاطِينِ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ السَّعِيرِ (5)
And We have certainly decorated the lowest sky with lamps and have made it what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the torture of blaze.
[Al Quran ; 67:5]
وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ (6)
And for those who have disbelieved in their Lord will be the torture of hell, and miserable is the destination.
[Al Quran ; 67:6]
إِذَا أُلْقُوا فِيهَا سَمِعُوا لَهَا شَهِيقًا وَهِيَ تَفُورُ (7)
When they will be thrown into it, they will hear to it an inhaling while it boils.
[Al Quran ; 67:7]
تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ ۖ كُلَّمَا أُلْقِيَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌ (8)
It almost bursts in fury; whenever a group is thrown into it, its keepers ask them: Did there not come to you a warner?
[Al Quran ; 67:8]
قَالُوا بَلَىٰ قَدْ جَاءَنَا نَذِيرٌ فَكَذَّبْنَا وَقُلْنَا مَا نَزَّلَ اللَّهُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ كَبِيرٍ (9)
They will say: Yes, there came to us a warner, but we denied and said: Allah has not sent down anything, you are only in enormous misguidance.
[Al Quran ; 67:9]
وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ (10)
And they will say: If only we had listened or reasoned, we would not have been among the companions of the blaze.
[Al Quran ; 67:10]
فَاعْتَرَفُوا بِذَنْبِهِمْ فَسُحْقًا لِأَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ (11)
And they will admit their sins; and destroyed will be the companions of the blaze.
[Al Quran ; 67:11]
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَيْبِ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ (12)
Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen, for them there will be forgiveness and huge reward.
[Al Quran ; 67:12]
وَأَسِرُّوا قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ اجْهَرُوا بِهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ (13)
And conceal your saying or declare it; indeed, He is Knowing of what is in the chests.
[Al Quran ; 67:13]
أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ (14)
Does He not know those whom He created, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted?
[Al Quran ; 67:14]
هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ ذَلُولًا فَامْشُوا فِي مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا مِنْ رِزْقِهِ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ (15)
It is He Who made the earth subjected for you, so walk through its terrain and eat of His provision; and to Him is the resurrection.
[Al Quran ; 67:15]
أَأَمِنْتُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ أَنْ يَخْسِفَ بِكُمُ الْأَرْضَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَمُورُ (16)
Do you feel secure that He Who is in the heaven would not cause the earth to swallow you and suddenly it sways?
[Al Quran ; 67:16]
أَمْ أَمِنْتُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ أَنْ يُرْسِلَ عَلَيْكُمْ حَاصِبًا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ كَيْفَ نَذِيرِ (17)
Or do you feel secure that He Who is in the heaven would not send upon you a hurricane? Then you would know how was My warning.
[Al Quran ; 67:17]
وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ (18)
And already had those before them denied, so how was My reproach.
[Al Quran ; 67:18]
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الطَّيْرِ فَوْقَهُمْ صَافَّاتٍ وَيَقْبِضْنَ ۚ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا الرَّحْمَٰنُ ۚ إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ بَصِيرٌ (19)
Do they not see the birds above them expanding (their wings) and contracting (them)? None withholds them except the Compassionate. Indeed, He is, of everything, Seeing.
[Al Quran ; 67:19]
أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا الَّذِي هُوَ جُنْدٌ لَكُمْ يَنْصُرُكُمْ مِنْ دُونِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۚ إِنِ الْكَافِرُونَ إِلَّا فِي غُرُورٍ (20)
Or who is it that will be a soldier for you to help you other than the Compassionate? The unbelievers are only in delusion.
[Al Quran ; 67:20]
أَمَّنْ هَٰذَا الَّذِي يَرْزُقُكُمْ إِنْ أَمْسَكَ رِزْقَهُ ۚ بَلْ لَجُّوا فِي عُتُوٍّ وَنُفُورٍ (21)
Or who is it that will provide for you if He withheld His provision? Rather, they persist in insolence and aversion.
[Al Quran ; 67:21]
أَفَمَنْ يَمْشِي مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِ أَهْدَىٰ أَمَّنْ يَمْشِي سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ (22)
So, is one who walks fallen upon his face more guided or one who walks upright on a straight path?
[Al Quran ; 67:22]
قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْشَأَكُمْ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۖ قَلِيلًا مَا تَشْكُرُونَ (23)
Say: It is He Who created you and made for you hearing and visions and hearts; little are you grateful.
[Al Quran ; 67:23]
قُلْ هُوَ الَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ (24)
Say: It is He Who multiplied you through the earth, and to Him you will be gathered.
[Al Quran ; 67:24]
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ (25)
And they say: When is this promise, if you should be truthful?
[Al Quran ; 67:25]
قُلْ إِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ (26)
Say: The knowledge is only with Allah, and I am only an obvious warner.
[Al Quran ; 67:26]
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ زُلْفَةً سِيئَتْ وُجُوهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَقِيلَ هَٰذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تَدَّعُونَ (27)
And when they will see it near, distressed will be the faces of those who have disbelieved, and it will be said: This is that for which you used to call.
[Al Quran ; 67:27]
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَهْلَكَنِيَ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ مَعِيَ أَوْ رَحِمَنَا فَمَنْ يُجِيرُ الْكَافِرِينَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ (28)
Say: Have you considered whether Allah should destroy me and those with me or have mercy upon us; so who can protect the unbelievers from a painful torture?
[Al Quran ; 67:28]
قُلْ هُوَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ آمَنَّا بِهِ وَعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ (29)
Say: He is the Compassionate, we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. And you are going to know who it is that is in obvious error.
[Al Quran ; 67:29]
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَصْبَحَ مَاؤُكُمْ غَوْرًا فَمَنْ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِمَاءٍ مَعِينٍ (30)
Say: Have you considered if your water should become sunken, then who is it that will bring you flowing water?
